So, what are these "utilities", and since when do I have to pay them?
To tell the truth, I don't have $50 to my name. Haha... so, I guess I'll have to sell my plasma or something. Or, call my dad.
It is a very sad thing to depend on someone for money; this past couple weeks have made me feel more worthless than ever before. I don't have a job. There is nothing I can do to make money; I have no time to do anything that would make me money.
School should help me break free of this dependence eventually... but for now it sure is making life difficult.
I need a way to earn money... but, I am a student. I really don't have time for a job, because my schedule is set for me to be way into being a student....
I have enough money for a few more weeks of... food. =)
...this is like an adventure. It's almost like I'm a poor college student or something.
P.S. At least I have Patrick. =D
I swear, I would have given up without him; I'm not sure anyone in the world could be better at keeping me going. We have an eleven month anniversary comin' up next week... and then my birthday! |

It's been a long, long while.
School is insane.
Patrick is wonderful.
Extended family is sweet.
Utah is pretty.

The Princeton Review's annual college guide lists BYU as the nation's No. 1 stone-cold sober school for the 10th straight year, as reported by the Deseret Morning News. The ranking, obtained by surveying students, also lists BYU's Lee Library as No. 3 in the nation.
Hehehehhe. What a funny school I'll be attending.
And, if you were wondering, I paid off my first semester of tuition this morning. =) All $1,920 of it. |

When a person is about to leave for college, sweets shouldn't be the only thing she knows how to make. That being said, I decided to give some real food a shot. A few days ago I suggested making spinach lasagna to Patrick, so we scanned the internets for a tasty recipe to follow. We found one that looked decent enough, and bought what ingredients weren't immediately abundant in my household. Today was the planned day to make it, so Patrick and I went to work. I was pretty pleased with the results, though I'm not sure what I was expecting. My mom and dad liked it, and so did Patrick. So, I guess I'll keep that one for a later date as well.
So, I'm compiling a cookbook of enjoyable foods that Patrick will tolerate. =)
ALSO, I do not know what I was doing not spending every available day this summer with Sarah. Kelly and I went to Sarah's to do some cake making this morning... man! That was pretty enjoyable, I always like being around Sarah. Then when Kelly had to leave for work, Sarah and I made Shrinky Dinks. That was so fun. They turned out so nice. Hahah.... Geez.
I am sure we will be able to do really neat stuff during the holidays this year, too. I will make sure of it.
P.S. I learned how to do some fair isle knitting. =) Also, I love my Kermit.

| Oh my... my Teeth. |

My mouth hurts. Ever since I got my fillings, brushing and flossing have been making my gums bleed and ache like heck. When I was flossing after my cleaning they didn't bleed after the first time I did it, and it certainly didn't hurt. Ever since I got the actual fillings, though... it's been pretty painful to keep my teeth clean.
Oh... I made cookies with Patrick last night. We got a little carried away with it and lost track of time. The cookies looked fabulous though... too bad I didn't take pictures. We made two that were about ten inches in diameter (and more than an inch thick) and eight about four inches in diameter. Too bad sugar doesn't really seem all that appealing to me anymore. I'll be giving away the rest to my best buddy. =D
But, man... we baked those huge cookies perfectly. I was so impressed. They were so soft and wonderful. I think we'll be making something more meal like next time though. Maybe if you have a good suggestion you could send it my way. |

| Nine days till Utah. |

I went to eat lunch with Tom today. It was rather nice. =) I'm glad I got to see him.
Today I put a couple of my shirts into a clothes basket... I think that was part of an attempt at packing. Once I get past packing... it should be a little easier. Hopefully, anyway.
My Uncle is going to let Patrick stay with him in Utah if he gets the job out there. Waiting to find out is pretty irritating. If I'm only setting myself up for a huge let down... I'll be pretty upset. Hahah.
Tuesday I had to go to the dentist to get my fillings done... they numbed me so much that the entire left side of my face from my bottom eye lid to my jaw was unusable. Patrick certainly thought it was funny to see me try to smile... or laugh. It's easier to laugh about it now... I guess. For your enjoyment, a picture of me trying to smile:

I finally... finally... changed my profile pictures. YAY!
It's only been a year or so, right?
Man. I didn't know you could make LJs look nice. When I get the time I'll test it out. I'll have to actually make my page look... okay.
(It's not like anyone checks your actual journal though... just the friends page. Oh well.)

Two weeks till I leave. That's insane.
It is still to be determined if Patrick is coming too. I told him he had to send off his resume and demo really soon... I hope he does. Sometimes I'm not sure if he really wants to go at all. That's completely fair, I guess.
It would be amazing to have him so close... but for some reason I don't think it's going to happen. We'll see what happens. |

| I hate the dentist! |

I do not neglect my teeth; I take care to brush them twice a day so they don't go terrible. But, I don't floss. No one ever taught me how, and it's really difficult for me. Maybe everyone thinks that of flossing. Anyway, I went to the dentist today... and after messing around with my fairly clean teeth, they told me I had five cavities. FIVE. They pretty much asked me if I ate pure sugar daily. I don't.
FLOSSING...I'm so mad. Each of those cavities started in between my teeth... I am so mad at myself. I guess I'll have to figure out how in the world to correctly floss. They told me to start using some stupid fluoride mouthwash too... because I suck.
I'm going to go kill myself! Bye bye! (I've learned my last darn lesson about taking care of my teeth. No more of this crap; I'm going to start doing this completely right once and for all (even though flossing is the worst feeling ever).) |

BYU starts its first day on September 4th. Sick, huh? I'm scared out of my wits. Living in an apartment with two strangers sounds really frightful. Going to school in a really, really, really big school also sounds terrifying. Some of my family lives in Utah... but I'm not really sure if that makes it easier. I am going to miss my mommy and my daddy. I'll miss my Sarah and my Kyle too.... I've thought about how much I would miss Patrick, and I can't even stand it; I can't even stand being away from Patrick for a full day.
I've found a job for him to apply for out there; it's a job dealing with music in the same company my brothers work. It would be a good job for him, I think (and his mom does too). Getting experience with a job in music will be pretty good, and it's pretty good pay, and... he'll be in Utah just a bit away from me. He's working on a demo right now. We'll see what happens by the end of the month, I guess. |

Well, today my hair was cut... not much, but it is indeed a little different besides just being shorter. I think it looks fine; there aren't a bunch of unflattering whispies around my face anymore. (By the way, "trims" are haircuts too anyway, darn it.)
Oh well. Melissa and I went on a pretty short bike ride. She tried to tell me that I didn't know where I was going, but for once I actually did. She also tried to tell me that the store formerly known as Sprague's, is actually pronounced "fill-ip-eye". NOOO. How can anyone live in Watervliet and not know that last name? Or (on another note) not know that the park by my house is not actually spelled "Hays". NOOO. It's even spelled wrong on the new sign because someone is an idiot.
...nevermind.
Patrick went on a walk with me today. I wanted to go to his house for a second, but he said I couldn't. I guess Mrs. Coffin told him not to let me come over. =( |

Patrick and I saw a license plate that started "6AY". The car drove off too fast for me to get a picture of it's plate. That was too bad.
I'm leaving for Utah on the 25th. That will be a change. A few short days after the 25th, I will be starting school. Maybe it will keep me so busy... that I won't notice how alone and far away from Michigan I am.

I made this hat for a little girl named Shelby. It's old, but I figured since I posted the picture of the other hat, I could post this too. I also crocheted a bag, but I'm still fixing it up. As soon as it is usable as a bag I will post a picture of it... because it is lovely. =)

A development.... It's pretty exciting, but I'm not going to talk about it. Hahah.
I sure as punch will be thinking about it though... wow.
Today Josh tried to write "testicles," but his cursive wasn't quite right, and I could have sworn it actually said "tasticakes". Heheh. I like Josh, but sometimes I think he's just trying to egg on Patrick and me. Mostly Patrick. He actually dropped quite the insult on Patrick today (a bit on myself as well, but I didn't mind much)... I couldn't tell if it bothered P-dawg or not. Probably not. That family does not have feelings, I swear.
Bed time. I just got off the phone with my sister; she's helping me pull together a resume so I can get a job. Soooooo tired. |
